A garden interview

Today we talked to a three German 20-somethings in the English Gardens about their internships, the outdoors and nudity. Here's a glimpse in to our conversation.

Matthias Lorenz

Tobias Burgmayer

Christoph Parschau

What are you doing in Munich?
We're doing an internship for a half a year at Bosch with security systems. It's very interesting; it has to do with marketing and sales. We usually don't get to go out during the week since we're working then, but we definitely make it out on the weekends.

How often do you come to the English Gardens?
We come here as much as we can -- a lot on the weekends, the whole day if possible.

Are most people here at the gardens tourists or natives?
Most people are probably German. You see tourists taking a quick walk through here sometimes, but on the weekends, it's more than likely a majority of natives.

How is nudity perceived in Germany?
For us, nudity is no problem. We might to the sauna nude and it's just a normal thing. Of course, sometimes you see a girl that's 200 kilos and nude, and you think to yourself, "Eww," but it's still nothing weird.

Why do Germans love the outdoors so much?
Probably because we such a lovely countryside -- lots of lakes, rivers. If it's warm outside, nobody wants to stay inside. I have all the time in the world in winter to stay inside with my computer, so if it's warm, there's no reason to stay inside!
